Drew Harrison
Drew joined the Pharmaceutical Industry in 1979 as a medical representative with Ciba Laboratories in N.Ireland. From there he has held sales and marketing positions with Astra, Lilly & Co, Janssen-Cilag , J&J and Talisker Pharma. He was appointed Sales and Marketing Director UK & Ireland for McNeil Nutrition (J&J) in 1999 through the launch phase of Benecol – first in class “nutriceutical”. Four years followed at Ashfield Healthcare Ltd, United Drug plc, where Drew acted as both Business Development Director (UK ) and General Manager ( Ireland ). Talisker Pharma was a start up specialty pharmaceutical company which was sold in 2006 to EUSA. Drew was European Sales and Marketing Director until June 2006.
Joining Activity Benchmarking Ltd in July 2006 Drew was appointed Managing Director and has subsequently taken ownership and control of the company.
Drew has never ventured far from his roots in selling. He has experience of managing both large and medium sized teams of sales professionals across Europe in specialised healthcare and primary care - with single high value products and mass consumer innovative health supplements. Analysing team performance and achieving best practice has been a passion through his career to date. “Benchmarking is a core informatic for sales managers. Context in decision making is paramount. Anything else is a guess!”
Outside of current work Drew is a Trustee of The Ellen MacArthur Trust. The EMT takes young people aged between 8-18 sailing to help them regain their confidence, on their way to recovery from cancer, leukaemia and other serious illness.
Drew is also a presenter on Radio Cherwell – Oxford’s Hospital Radio. Golf, travel and importantly family fill the rest of his time!
